A team of qualified physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech & audiologist and psychologist provide assessment, therapy, referral services and designed assistive devices. Therapy is a regular component of daily curriculum of students.


Psychological assessment is a process of testing that uses a combination of techniques to help arrive at some hypotheses about a person and their behavior, personality and capabilities. Psychological assessment is also referred to as psychological testing, or performing a psychological battery on a person. Psychological testing is nearly always performed by a licensed psychologist, or a psychology trainee (such as an intern). Psychologists are the only profession that is expertly trained to perform and interpret psychological tests. Psychological assessment should never be performed in a vacuum. A part of a thorough assessment of an individual is that they also undergo a full medical examination, to rule out the possibilities of a medical, disease or organic cause for the individual’s symptoms. It’s often helpful to have this done first, before psychological testing (as it may make psychological testing moot).


The physiotherapy services worked for medico- social rehabilitation using various technical inputs for promoting functional goals for the multiply disabled children providing individual sessions, Group sessions and family training sessions. The therapeutic intervention focused on development of the functional abilities through physiotherapy techniques, closely working with occupational therapy and speech therapy units to enhance the prognosis with a multidisciplinary approach.


The Occupational Therapy unit delivered its services with a trained and qualified occupational therapist working as part of a multidisciplinary team. The services included individual assessment, treatment, sensory integration and early intervention, focusing on promoting skill development thus facilitating independence in all daily living activities. The unit also worked towards assessing, evaluating and recommending adaptive modifications of the mobility aids and postural aids.


Speech therapy unit worked cohesively with the CSE to address the needs of children with disability. The service mainly focused in assessing and treating children with speech, language and communication difficulty. The oromotor problems with eating and swallowing were also addressed. The services of the unit were delivered by a qualified speech therapist who addressed different areas of disorders such as disarticulation, dysfluency, voice disorders, oromotor rehabilitation, issues related to feeding.


The focus is on educating students with special needs in specially designed ways that address individual differences and needs the process involves individually planned and systematically monitored arrangement of teaching procedures adapted equipment, materials and accessible settings from the age 3 to 15 years. The goal is to enhance the potential of each student till it reach to the highest ability levels.


• Home management: - children who are unable to attend regular school due to severity of their disability are given intervention programmes and parents /caregivers trained to follow them.
